Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens is a 9,100-acre National Historic Landmark and a true cultural jewel of the South Carolina coast. Founded in 1931 by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, this expansive estate seamlessly blends world-class art, vibrant botanical displays, and deep Lowcountry history into one unforgettable experience.

Visitors are often most captivated by the sculpture gardens, which house the largest and most comprehensive collection of American figurative sculpture in the country. More than 2,000 works are integrated into the landscape, nestled among 250-year-old live oaks draped in Spanish moss.

Beyond the art, the property features a variety of manicured gardens and the Lowcountry Zoo, where guests can observe native species like river otters, alligators, and red foxes in their natural habitats. You can also explore the Lowcountry History Center or take a seasonal pontoon boat tour through the historic rice fields.

A wonderful benefit for vacationers is that your admission ticket is valid for seven consecutive days, allowing you to return throughout your stay to explore at a leisurely pace.
