Annual Owners Meeting & Election:
On Saturday June 13th we held the 48th Annual Owners’ Meeting for Litchfield By The Sea. Here is a summary of what happened at the Meeting:
- The Board President, Larry Ferguson, provided a Report on the operating status of the Association.
- The Treasurer, Jim Register, provided a report on the financial status of the Association.
- The 2025 LBTS Annual Meeting Minutes were approved by 98% of the owners that voted.
- The 2026 Tax Resolution was approved by 99% of the owners that voted.
- The 2 candidates receiving the most votes and elected to serve on the LBTS Board of Directors are:
- Bethany Parler (Summerhouse COA)
- Cynthia Steen (Sandpiper Run COA)

Organizational Meeting of the Board:
On Tuesday June 16th the Board Met to select Officers. Below are the Board Officers and Directors that will serve the Association during the next year:
- Jim Register was elected President
- Larry Ferguson was elected Vice President
- Bob Gilman was elected Secretary
- Jim Guzewich was elected Treasurer
- Royce King Director
- Bethany Parler Director
- Cynthia Steen Director
The Litchfield-by-the-Sea Board, and its Officers, are the elected governing body that runs the association. In our large-scale community, their primary role is to protect and enhance property values through financial stewardship & governance. Because large-scale HOAs often function like small municipalities or corporate entities, the Board generally delegates daily operational tasks to a professional community association manager and his/her staff. Therefore, Board’s main job is to provide oversight, establish policies, and make final voting decisions.
Again, we welcome our new Directors and Officers and look forward to another great year at Litchfield by the Sea!

FUN Events Happening Around Town
Summer Book Sale Event June 26 9AM-4:00PM & June 27 9AM-12PM
The annual Summer Book Sale is the place to find inexpensive books on the Waccamaw Neck! Presented by the Friends of the Waccamaw Library, this annual event is a popular fundraiser, where the proceeds benefit the Waccamaw Library. Members only are invited to shop the day before the sale opens to the public. Become a Friends of the Waccamaw Library (FOWL) member and take advantage of the early sales time. Memberships are available online at TheFowl.org.

Celebrating Carolina / Made in Carolina Event June 27 10AM-1:00PM
Join the Georgetown County community at Georgetown Growers Market for the opening ceremony to kick off the week- long Carolina Days Celebration to mark the nation’s 250th birthday. The colonial-themed event will feature presentation of the Colors by the Georgetown Fire Department Color Guard, patriotic music, and speeches by local dignitaries. Large copies of the Declaration of Independence will be available for all to sign.
