Located just minutes from our gates, Huntington Beach State Park is a 2,500-acre coastal preserve that offers one of the most pristine and uncrowded stretches of shoreline in South Carolina. This nature lover’s paradise is renowned for its exceptional birdwatching, with over 300 species recorded throughout its salt marshes and maritime forests.
Visitors can explore several miles of hiking and biking trails, fish from the jetty, or visit the Nature Center to see live animal exhibits and touch tanks.
The park’s crown jewel is Atalaya Castle, the former winter home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington. This National Historic Landmark features stunning Moorish-style architecture and more than 30 rooms that tell the story of the couple’s lasting legacy in the Lowcountry.
